Dress Up!

  • While busily cleaning the house this morning, I hear Keira making the declaration...
"THE PRINCESS IS HERE!!" And I would have to agree... Kinley was looking rather princessy. I am in love with the flowy skirt (with khakis underneath) and the way-too-big-dress-up-shoes. And not to mention that crown.
  • Keira told me that she was "be-tending" to be Prince Charming, because we don't got no boys. But she's just "be-tending" because she is NOT a boy.
(Thanks for clearing that up, dear daughter!)
I love those girls!

"Santa's List" By: Keira Adrianne Hall

  • Today was my sweet girls' Christmas parties.
  • This afternoon, as they were sifting through their loot, Keira got very excited about a new princess spiral notebook and some markers.
  • As a kid, I remember writing letters to people, writing stories, etc- that looked just like this..
  • Both the girls always say, "Mama! Close your eyes!" then... "TA-DA!"
  • So when I opened my eyes, I expected her to say that it was names or her Christmas list or something...
  • Nope.
  • My child has written a short story. {lol!}
  • Once she began talking, I scrambled to get a pen so I could capture this memory.
  • I am putting this on here for me. This is a Mama memory. Most others haven't heard her sweet precious voice, so the words and patterns won't mean anything, but it does to me.
  • So here goes!
  • Santa's List by: Keira Hall {age 4}
  • Get Santa to have his "elf-es", ALL of them, to bring Santa's toys. He has to bring them to the children TONIGHT! He will get in his sleigh and when he don't bring the presents, it's because he don't have him's sleigh! He needs to find him's sleigh QUICKLY, if you don't, the children will cry because they won't have no presents!
  • The "elf-es" will probably go to the parade tonight. If we don't go, Santa will be sad. Mommy and Daddies have to check under the tree for presents, and if there's not any, go back to SLEEP! Santa will take FOREVER, but when you eat breakfast, Santa comes. Mommies and Daddies will run really fast up the stairs to get all them's kids to get the toys for the children!
  • Santa will say "Ho Ho Ho! Merry Christmas!" and the childrens will say "Thank you! Merry Christmas!"
  • {I think that is the cutest thing ever! It is going into the baby book immediately! }
  • {{And other happenings from this week may be blogged about in the near future... I thought I would be less busy when college got out, but apparently not! The laundry, messes, and dishes have not stopped with the semester! Dang it!! }}

Imagine Christmas!

Friday night we all went out to watch Imagine Christmas! It was such a cute play, about how each member of a family imagines the perfect Christmas. There was a 40s dance sequence (that my history lovin' self LOVED!) a Thriller dance (that Jeremiah liked) a Stomp performance that was AWESOME and a princess parade that appealed to these two little princesses!!
The main reason we went was to watch my friend Susan, who we love!! The whole time the girls said, "We are watching Aunt Susan! When is it time for Aunt Susan??" They came out at the end when the family realizes the true meaning of Christmas and sing carols around Mary and Joseph. It was so sweet!
Before we left Keira took our picture. This is me trying to look calm and smiley, while also being ready to reach out and grab my camera in case she dropped it! {I put the neck strap on her- but her shoulders are about 6 inches wide! ha!}
I was trying to get them to stand together- and they did this. Precious!! Keira is telling Kin a secret...
We have been reading The Christmas Story everyday, and Kinley says that baby Jesus' mama and daddy are "Mewwy" and "Jo-phis". I love it! Too precious!! I am planning on getting them on video talking about Christmas, so I can post later. Happy Sunday! {one more week til Christmas break!}

I agree....

  • Oh my gosh, this is exactly like I feel this year....
  • I saw this on yahoo and completely cracked up.
  • I'm pretty much ready for Christmas, yet it hasn't been all crazy.
  • We're rockin' it low key this year. {And I am loving it!}
  • Have a great weekend everybody! I'm doing the happy (only-one-more-Saturday-class) dance!

keeping our ducks everything in a row

  • This is a repeat to my fb friends, but this little moment of mommy happy time went down last Wednesday morning, approximately 1 hour into Thanksgiving break. I was working on my curriculum unit (like I've had time for anything else lately?!?) and noticed that the girls were a little too quiet.
  • That right there, stuck to my floor, is about 30 Hannah Montana stickers.
  • The good ones.
  • The real good sticky ones.
  • I got a little grumpy and insisted that every.last.blamed.one.of.'em. come up NOW.
  • Keira started boohooing saying that I hurt her feelings when I tell her that.
  • Because guess why??
  • Kinley did it.
  • And I believed her for about a NO seconds.
  • Why?
  • Because I have the ultimate liner-upper.
  • Everything she plays with gets lined up... proven here with her totally random collection of Lightning McQueen, Mater, Shrek, some ponies, and Marty from Madagascar.
  • The ultimate proof came tonight...
  • Jeremiah and I were eating some popcorn on the couch, bowl between us.
  • Kin came with her little DoraSplora bowl of popcorn and sat beside me.
  • Keira came next with her Dora bowl (even though she is so over Dora) and wanted to sit between her daddy and me... in the popcorn's spot. (ha!)
  • So Jeremiah moved the bowl, Keira settled in, and said...
  • "NOW we're a thamily! Because we're all lined up!"
  • Awwwwwwwwwwwww!
  • Kinley's cuteness came out tonight when she was helping Daddy fold towels.
  • He threw a handtowel at her and said, "Here's a towel that's little like you!" She said, "I'm not little! I'm big like you. I'm all growed up!"
  • Then since we thought it was so funny, we kept asking her if she was little- trying to see what she'd say.
  • Finally she cut her eyes around (kinda like in this one!)
  • and said, "STOP saying that!"
  • Sassy girl!
  • On the school front- I took my final for my online class tonight and have my last class for the other on Saturday. So by 7ish on Saturday when I finally am home again, I will be done for over a month!
  • And- 11 more days until Christmas break! Woooohoooo!

uuuugggghhhhh....

  • so here's the deal, peeps...
  • i feel like total trash. i'm laying on my side typing- so there will be no caps.
  • as a teacher and grammatical nit-picker, it's bugging me, but oh well.
  • also the freak spacing problem is making me soooo mad, so i'm trying out the bullets.
  • but anyway, back to the story...
  • sunday morning i woke up feeling pretty bad.
  • but i thought it was just a headache, so i just took some meds because i was meeting up with my buddy Susan to take some pictures.
  • and i am so glad i did!!
  • aren't they adorable!?!
{i love mr. oliver in the red chair!!}
  • so after i did that i came home and stayed on he couch all day.
  • yesterday, i went to work- but felt pretty yucky. headache and a little coughing was all, so i really thought i just had a migraine.
  • but by the time i went to bed, i was almost bawling, i felt so bad.
  • hello tylenol pm!!
  • this morning i felt worse-way worse- than i did yesterday morning, so i didn't want to try to go to work.
  • but i haaaaaaaaate, hate, hate to call in. i always feel like people will judge, or no one will believe me, etc. luckily ( although i guess true luck would being not sick!) my boss saw me yesterday and could tell that i was sick. yes i probably looked that bad.
  • well i bit the bullet, called in, and went back to bed.
  • within the next few hours i felt like i had been hit by a bus. headache, body ache, and all that fun stuff. (riiiiight!)
  • i kept asking jeremiah (who is off on tuesdays) if i felt hot. he kept saying no.
  • by about 3ish- i had reached the point of pure misery. i couldn't even stand the light or sound of the tv... and that's when you KNOW you're sick, my friends!!
  • so i went in search of the thermometer.
  • verdict? 103.9. One- Oh-freaking-Three???? POINT 9???
  • i think that qualifies as fever. no wonder i thought i was dying.
  • so i took some more advil and now am doing the i am sweating to death, then freezing, then sweating, then freezing... you get the point.
  • my sweet, sweet girls are in the living room, because i am in quarentine. i miss them. =(
  • i have been watching food network and i wish i was bff with the Neelys. and Paula. sigh.
  • i really think some soul food or some butter would have made me feel better.
  • probably not, but i can dream right?
  • also- i have seen about 450 commercials saying "if you are sick- STAY home." pretty much keep your cooties to yourself, i guess. H1N1 awareness and all that. so i guess i made the right decision.
  • now i will be worrying about tomorrow- do i go back if i feel a little better? wait until i am well? what would the commerical say?
  • i hate calling in. did i mention that???
  • now that i am feeling well enough to open my eyes and --this just in-- my temp is a balmy 101.3! i think that i shouldn't miss 2 days in a row. but then again- no one wants my cooties.
  • if i've learned anything from daytime tv- it's stay home if you are sick!!
  • and that i want to be bff with the Neelys and Paula.

I'm Thankful For...
